Welcome to my new daily update of urban asshattery from the Heart of Texas.

Here's what I saw this morning.

Kinja'd!!!

I came to stop at a red light on Manchaca and Redd this morning. A woman in a white Tacoma was attempting to turn right, based on her blinkage. Heaven above, she used the blinker. I HAD to let her out.

So I wave.

Come on, you can go.

She proceeds to pull out. Three feet. Six feet. Where's she going? She's turning vaguely to the right, yes. Yes, there she goes.

It's been a good 20 seconds and she's still inching forward. People behind me begin to honk. Finally, she gooses it with authority, wildly swinging into the next lane, where there is of course a steady stream of traffic. She almost collides with a blue Civic, who dodges at the last instant by ducking into the turn lane. The white truck then completes the turn, pulls back into the right lane, and continues on unabated.

I can understand in some bigger vehicles not being able to turn out staying in your lane, that just means you need a gap in the other lane to finish your turn though. It's no excuse to almost kill the little civic.

Yes. Dump trucks, semis, some limousines. But this was a mid-sized pickup turning right into a gap that was more than adequate. I guess it's just really hard to crank the steering wheel enough with one hand to make a 90 degree turn at 3 mph. Unless of course you put down the cell phone, in which case, it's really not a problem.

The other day I was 50 feet behind a Corolla not holding a straight line in the left lane of a two lane road.

I couldn't take it anymore, I knew this person was either drunk or texting.

When I overtook the Corolla at a high speed I saw a girl texting on her phone.

Needless to say, everybody that was behind me started to overtake her (she wasn't going slow) and I think it's because nobody was looking to get caught in an accident involving a stupid person who valued texting more than their life or the life of others.

There are 2 types of drivers in this world. Those who can talk on the phone while driving and those who can't.
